5 Tallahassee Restaurants That Are Great For Leftovers

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at FSU chapter.

As a college student there’s almost nothing better than going out to eat and being able to bring home a box full of leftovers. It saves money, makes for a convenient snack, and you get to eat the same great meal twice. You know how it goes: cash is running low but you haven’t gone grocery shopping in over a week so you’re forced to strategize. Which restaurants will give you the most bang for your buck? Luckily in Tallahassee there are plenty of options to choose from.

1. Long Garden

Chinese food is a classic for leftovers, and you can’t beat the convenience of delivery. At long Garden, each entrée comes complete with an egg roll and a steaming mountain of fried rice that could last you three days on its own. Cheap prices plus a minimum delivery fee of $10 guarantees that you’ll have food for the rest of the week.

2. Mayuri

If you want to try something new, this Indian restaurant is the way to go. Their menu offers a wide range of traditional dishes that will have your mouth watering, especially if you like spicy food. Once you eat here you’ll want to keep coming back for more, so do yourself a favor and go to the buffet instead of limiting yourself to just one dish.

3. Munchiez Rollz

Munchiez combined two of the foods that college kids love most to make their giant sushi burritos. They’re so big you’ll need to use two hands, but they only cost as much as the usual sushi roll. Unfortunately Munchiez is currently closed, but they plan to open sometime in February so make sure to check them out soon.

4. Village Pizza & Pasta

If you love buttery garlic knots and bottomless dishes of pasta, then Village Pizza & Pasta is heaven on earth. Weekday lunch specials include garlic knots and a choice of soup or salad, which will leave you full before your food is even served. This gem might be far from campus, but it’s more than worth the drive.

5. Jim & Milt’s

Jim & Milt’s has been serving Tallahassee since 1968, and they definitely know what they’re doing. All of the sides are delicious, the barbecue plates are overflowing, and the sandwiches are stacked high on Texas toast. What’s not to love when you can get that much food for such an affordable price?

Haley writes for Spoon University FSU. When she isn't biking around town, she can be found getting unnecessarily emotional over photos of baby animals. She's passionate about everything chocolate, and advocates for banning the practice of mixing ketchup with mayo. P.s. she's a vegetarian, but that doesn't mean she doesn't know how to have fun.
