This Is How Much Food You Could Buy If You Won the Powerball Jackpot

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at South Carolina chapter.

In case you haven’t heard, the Powerball jackpot has reached a whopping $900 million. If the winner of Saturday’s drawing chooses to take a lump sum (instead of a payout over 30 years) they will take home $558 million before taxes.

In an effort to understand just how large this amount of money is, I have calculated how many popular food items you can buy with $558 million.

Disclaimer: If you do win the Powerball, please do not attempt to purchase this amount of food as that would not be a healthy investment (although I know it’s tempting).
