Chips Ahoy Copied Spoon and Made Hot Cocoa Into a Cookie

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at PITT chapter.

You saw it here first when we turned everyone’s favorite winter drink into a homemade cookie.

Now, Chips Ahoy has done it on an industrial level.

For a limited time (read: 8 weeks, so get to the store ASAP), you can find these chocolately cookies in stores across the country. Thrillist says these babies are meant to be eaten warm, but I’m pretty sure they taste just as good at room temperature dipped in a glass of milk (or hot chocolate, if you’re feeling daring).

Cocoa flavor? Check. Marshmallows? Check. These guys also have white chocolate chips and a fantastically fudgey center, so they’re basically hot cocoa on crack.

#SpoonTip: If you want them warm, microwave each cookie individually for 8 seconds. Any more, it’ll burn your tongue. Any less, it won’t be melty and gooey and delicious.

So, do they actually taste like hot chocolate? Surprisingly, yes. The filling in the center might sound weird, but it’s a great touch to mimic real hot chocolate and it doesn’t taste tooooooo artificial or overly sugary.
