15 Restaurants Every Penn Student Should Order Delivery From

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at U Penn chapter.

Food options are abound on Penn’s campus, so it can be a little tricky to pick the right spot to order in from. Luckily, we decided to make life easier for you and narrowed it down to our 15 campus favorites.

Below, you’ll find their most popular menu items, as well as secret tips and must-try dishes. So prepare yourself — you’re about to step up your delivery game big time.

1. Axis Pizza

Milkshakes and burgers and fries, oh my! Axis will satisfy all of your wildest junk food cravings at any time of the day or night. You also can’t go wrong with any of their pizza or any fried options. Our personal favorites include the buffalo gourmet pizza, chicken tenders and famous mozzarella sticks.

2. Greek Lady

So you’re craving a fresh pita sandwich filled with fries, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, tzatziki, and meat carved straight from a revolving spit? Look no further than this beloved Greek spot. We could eat their chicken gyros all day every day, but their massive grilled chicken salads are also a great “healthier” option if you’re into that.

3. Allegro Pizza & Grill

Although most of us typically hit up Allegro’s past bedtime, this ultimate Penn favorite offers a mean delivery service to cure even the worst hangovers. Their extensive menu will fulfill all of your carbs-loaded dreams, so don’t miss out on their buffalo pizza, baked ziti, or our personal favorite: eggplant parm.

4. Best China Inn

Best China Inn offers anything you could ever dream of when it comes to Chinese take-out. While we see how their General Tso’s chicken is a chef specialty, we also really dig their special fried chicken wings. Don’t miss out on their lobster fried rice, which always hits the spot.

5. Pattaya Thai Cuisine

There’s a reason why Pattaya is a campus favorite. This place offers free delivery on all the Thai specialties you could ever crave. Our favorites include the Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles (obviously), but the lesser-known Pad See Ew noodles are an absolute must, too (think large noodles, eggs and Chinese broccoli drenched in two soy sauces).

6. Mizu Sushi Bar

Mizu is the perfect little campus joint where you can indulge on your sushi cravings at a reasonable price. Make sure to order their lunch special, which includes a miso soup and a smart roll (mix & match of 4 half rolls). Delivery also happens to be free for our greatest pleasure.

7. Hummus Grill

This is the perfect place to indulge on your wildest Mediterrannean cravings. Hummus’ freshly baked fluffy pitas are the perfect shell for delicious sandwiches. Most notably, they offer a mean shawarma sandwich that’s filled with juicy meat shavings, hummus, and veggies of your choice. We also recommend their hearty lamb or chicken platters, with fried eggplant, tabouli salad, and baba ganoush on the side.

8. Koreana

This place is a true hidden gem. Koreana offers the best bibimbap on campus — big rice bowls filled with meat, veggies, and a fried egg on top. Their soups, like the Yukgae Jang, are also delicious for spicy food lovers. And if that’s not your thing, Koreana wings are one of those dishes that remind you of how good Asian-fusion food can be.

9. Evan’s Pizza

Buffalo Chicken Fries…why hasn’t anyone thought of this before!! @mjorlazer

Buffalo. Chicken. Fries. If there’s one dish you should order from Evan’s, this should be the one. Picture a plate full of grilled buffalo chicken pieces, crispy fries, and more cheese than you could ever handle. If your blood pressure can take it, this dish will satisfy your strongest drunchies. Other solid choices include the special stuffed crust pizza and the buffalo wings.

10. Ed’s Buffalo Wings & Pizza

In case the restaurant’s name wasn’t explicit enough, Ed’s specializes in all things buffalo. Like many other places, they offer really good buffalo pizza, wings, and fingers, but we absolutely love their shrimp. Order it with spicy curly fries on the side and you’re in for a real treat. You also can’t go wrong with their pizza by the slice

11. Wishbone Craft Fried Chicken

Wishbone has been everyone’s one-stop-shop for all things fried chicken since it opened. You can’t go wrong with their wings or buttermilk battered tenders with a pretzel crust (dark or white meat), but do not miss out on their bomb Mac n’ Cheese with a pretzel crumbs. They also have an amazing selection of homemade sauces: honey mustard, pesto, bbq, or bleu.

12. Enjay’s at Smokey Joe’s

No, Smoke’s is not only a good bar to crash at the end of the night… Yes, they also happen to offer really, really good food. While their selection of pizza (including the make-your-own) is unmistakably one of the best on campus, their spicy wings definitely hit the spot. As for sides, do not skip the crispy rosemary fries and freshly baked garlic knots. You’ll thank us later.

13. Sabrina’s Café

As everybody knows by day-2 freshman year, Drexel has much better food options than we do. Case-in-point with their top brunch spot Sabrina’s, which offers some of the most delicious treats in University City. So if you lack the energy to roll out of bed, order all of your cravings in instead. We’re talking stuffed challah French toast, buttermilk pancakes, or even huevos rancheros as breakfast in bed. Sign us up.

14. Sitar India Cuisine

Indian food!

While Sitar is famous for their cheap, wonderfully filling, all-you-can-eat Indian buffet, it’s also a free-delivery campus favorite. Their extensive menu covers not only well-known crowd-pleasers like chicken tandoori, but also traditional dishes like goat curry. At Spoon, we can’t have enough of their chicken tikka massala or biryani. Now if you’re vegetarian, we hear that the chana masala, vegetable samosas, and cheesy saag paneer really hit the spot.

15. Honest Tom’s

Holy guacamole! Honest Tom’s tacos are hands down the best you’ll find on campus. This “Mexican food-truck turned brick-and-mortar” is a campus favorite for their loaded tacos, massive burritos, and homemade hot sauces. On weekends, their breakfast is possibly the best hangover cure for out there! So get your hands on one of these bad boys, and don’t forget the side of guac.
