Why You Should Spend Your Thursday Nights at Hardywoods Food Trucks

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Richmond chapter.

Whether you’re looking for a hot dog covered in buffalo sauce and blue cheese, or an alligator po-boy, the food trucks at Hardywood Brewery will fill your tummy with delicious noms.

Every Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 pm, the brewery opens up its enormous garage doors and brings in ten to fifteen food trucks. Equipped with picnic tables, it’s a great destination to bring your friends before a night out.

All of the food trucks are unique, with a wide selection of items to consider while searching for your ideal dinner.

Cheezilla’s Gormet Grilled Cheese’s

This one was my personal favorite – their “mighty mac” sandwich is out of this world. Check out the menu here.

This is another fabulous truck with a menu of traditional greek cuisine. If you’re like me and Tzatziki sauce is your fav, their lamb gyro is on point. Wrapped in a foil cone, it’s a portable meal to enjoy while walking around.

Did someone say chocolate-covered bacon? Yes, this is a real thing. At De Rochonnet Delights’ truck, they have bacon covered in a variety of different chocolates. For only $4, you get three pieces of bacon — dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and white chocolate with peppermint.

If you’re into that, be sure to find them at the annual Richmond bacon festival. If not, don’t worry, they also offer an array of gelato and pastries for people whose taste buds aren’t THAT adventurous.

Whether you’re going for a snack, a meal, or just to walk around, these food trucks offer a unique selection of greatness just right outside campus. Hardywood Brewery’s food truck Thursdays are an attraction suitable for any taste buds, so bring anyone (and everyone) you know and stop by.
