There was a time when ordering food at a ballpark led to choosing between simple items like a hotdog, popcorn, peanuts, cotton candy or a soft pretzel. Now? Those items are still there but they have enhanced food at ballparks. MLB teams are treating concession stands like food festivals, serving everything from wearable nachos to two-foot quesadillas, and burgers stacked so high, it can barely fit the bun. As fans chase the latest stadium snack, teams are competing against each other and racing to create menu items that make people come back or new fans traveling from a different state to test it out, making the food just as memorable as the game itself.
Teams and stadiums are not just trying to feed fans anymore, they are trying to create a special appeal to the fans that end up all over social media. Many stadiums are leaning into local flavors and signature items in that state or city, oversized portions and unique names inspired by players and teams traditions, ultimately turning concession stands into attractions of their own.
This season’s lineup may be the craziest food items yet and while I haven’t put them to test, I couldn’t resist ranking, not in order, of the most creative, out of this world, and bucket list worthy items debuting around the league. Here are just some of the new 2026 must try new stadium foods.
Rally Sombrero, Texas Rangers
The Rangers’ Rally Sombrero’s takes standard nachos and makes them wearable Built inside an edible tortilla sombrero, this special item has a nine-layer dip filled with guacamole, pico de gallo, lettuce, jalapenos, black olives, cheese and of course tortilla chips place in the center for easy accessibility for eating. Not only can you eat it, but you can wear it and share it,, all while enjoying the game of baseball right in front of you.
Mini Dessert Chicken Bucket, New York Yankees
This might be the most convincing food prank ever created. At first glance, it looks like a bucket of fried chicken. But instead, the “drumstick” is actually vanilla ice cream with a chocolate cookie center dipped in white chocolate and coated with crunchy candied cornflakes. It not only sounds amazing, it is creative, nostalgic, and almost guaranteed to prank anyone walking past your seat.
Lobstah Poutine, Boston Red Sox
You really can only get good lobster up on the east coast and what better way then to bring it to a ballgame. Instead of traditional gravy, the Red Sox load crispy fries with lobster meat, clam clowder, and bacon for a seafood twist that represents and celebrates one of the city’s most iconic foods. It really shows how MLB should be highlighting regional food traditions instead of serving the same stuff at all stadiums no matter where.
Take Me Out to the Ballgame Shake, Arizona Diamondbacks
A salted caramel milkshake is piled high with Kit Kats, peanut butter sandwich cookies, whipped cream, and cracker jack. When I think of baseball, the first thing that comes to mind are cracker jacks so what better way to incorporate it in such a fun and unique way.
Glizzilla, Colorado Rockies
The Rockies’ Glizzilla is literally what it sounds like, a two-foot long, one pound hot dog that takes up you and your friends laps. Whether you’re splitting it or just eating it solo, it is a must try.
Machete, Miami Marlins
Everything is bigger in baseball. The Marlins just introduced their newest item, the Machete. A two-foot long quesadilla that is stuffed with melted mozzarella and Oaxaca cheese, carne asada, sala verde, cilantro, and smoked guajillo pepper sauce. Not only that, it comes in its own carrying case branded and designed for the Marlins.
The Bat Flip, Atlanta Braves
The Braves’ newest creation stacks two pounds of seasoned beef, braised short rib, crispy pork belly, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato, crunchy onions, and a fried egg onto a toasted brioche bun. At seven inches tall, I would be scared to dig in, in fear of it all falling apart.
Washington State Ferry Boat, Seattle Mariners
The Seattle Mariners celebrate 75 years of the Washington state ferry system and 50 seasons of the franchise with a souvenir that can hold food too. Iconic and delicious at the same time.
Swarbomb Sundae, Philadelphia Phillies
Inspired by Kyle Schwarber, one of the best players on the Phillies, this sundae includes a mini helmet filled with soft serve ice cream and topped with a funnel cake fried strawberry Uncrustable, fresh strawberry sauce, and fruity cereal pieces.
