Grubhub Has Free Delivery For Orders Over $50

With March Madness beginning in less than a week, it is time to start planning those watch parties with all your friends. That means decorating, setting up the TV, and, of course, ordering food. Getting food delivered for a large group of people can be expensive, especially due to last-minute delivery fees that drive the price way above what you expected. But fret no longer, because Grubhub is here to solve all your large-order delivery issues.

Currently, Grubhub delivery fees start at 10% of the total order cost, but can increase based on distance and other factors. However, beginning this past February, Grubhub will be offering free delivery for restaurant orders over $50. That’s right, free. Now you can grab dinner for all your friends as you watch the basketball game without worrying about a last-minute price increase.

Even if basketball isn’t your thing, this new deal will save all college students eating in groups some hard-earned dollars. Fifty dollars is about two or three people’s worth of food, depending on the restaurant, so if you are looking to save on delivery, call up a couple of friends and get to ordering. Add in that extra side or dessert while you’re at it; no more fretting over your total getting fouled during checkout.

How else can I get free Grubhub delivery?

For orders less than $50, there are a couple of ways to get free delivery. One is the Grubhub+ subscription, which offers free delivery on all orders over $12. Many college students are eligible for a free Grubhub+ membership through graduation if their university partners with Grubhub Campus Dining. Over 360 universities are part of this program. To check, tap the account and then campus dining in the Grubhub app. Find your school and log in with your student credentials to verify you are a student. Not only do you get free delivery, but you also get a 5% credit back on pickup orders and exclusive food deals specific to your campus.

If your university is not part of this program or you are not a student, you can pay for the Grubhub+ subscription for $9.99 a month. If you are a frequent Grubhub user, this subscription might just pay for itself. Additionally, Amazon Prime members are eligible for one year of free Grubhub+ subscription.
