Going out to eat is usually a luxury, but it doesn’t have to be. At the drive-thru, I personally always apt for the cheapest possible menu items available or take advantage of the best deals. Fast food chains have noticed this pattern, and in response to complaints about high prices, many meal deals have been added to menus. Now, there has been a rise of breakfast meal deals to accompany the usual burgers and fries we have previously seen and are familiar with. While night owls won’t be able to participate in all of these meals, morning people can grab a well-sized breakfast for a good price at many different chains.
With the various combinations and meal options, it can be hard to decide where to eat the most important meal of the day. To help, I ranked the best fast food breakfast meal deals from places like Burger King, Dunkin’, 7-Eleven, Wendy’s, and McDonald’s breakfast. The cheapest options are highlighted, but many of these places also offer more choices for about another buck. I ranked these not only based on price, but also the quality of food that was offered throughout these deals, the portion size, and taste.
Dunkin’, $6 Meal Deal
What’s included: A filling bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, hash browns, and a medium hot or iced coffee.
While it isn’t the cheapest option, this deal allows you to get the most bang for your buck. With the coffee, you can add any extra flavors you want at no extra price. Essentially, you can get a whole breakfast plus a pumpkin spice latte if you add milk, three pumps of pumpkin spice syrup, and three pumps of vanilla. Another positive to this deal is that you can eat it any time of day.
7-Eleven, $5 Deal
What’s included: Bacon, egg, and cheese on a biscuit or croissant and a large coffee or Big Gulp.
This deal stands out in particular because of the large coffee that comes with the sandwich, which is unique to 7-Eleven since other chains don’t include large coffees. If you don’t need the coffee, you can also grab chicken tenders on a biscuit with hash browns for only $3.
Wendy’s, $4 Egg & Cheese Biscuit Combo
What’s included: Egg & Cheese Biscuit Combo, small seasoned potatoes, and a small coffee.
This is the cheapest option available, but you can also add on sausage or bacon for about $1 more or one with just chicken and sauce for less than $6. There’s also croissant sandwich combos, which includes options like the Maple Bacon Chicken Croissant Combo or the Sausage Egg & Swiss Croissant for about $6.50, or the Breakfast Baconator Combo for $7. Like Burger King, make sure to go before 10:30.
McDonald’s, $5 Sausage Egg McMuffin Meal
What’s included: Munch sausage egg McMuffin with a small hot coffee and McDonald’s signature hashbrown
If you want bacon instead of sausage, the meal goes up to $5.90. Other deals of note include the $6.91 Egg McMuffin Meal (with taylor ham), or the $7.50 Bacon or Sausage Egg Cheese Bagel Meal. Also on the cheaper side, the two Sausage Burrito Meals are only $5.31. If you are in the mood for a biscuit breakfast sandwich, the Bacon, Sausage, Egg Cheese Biscuit meal, or the McChicken Biscuit Meal are available for around $6.50. Want something a little sweet? McDonald’s offers McGriddle meals starting at $7. When deciding when to go, McDonald’s stops serving breakfast at different times depending on where you live.
Burger King, $5 Get Going Trio
What’s included: The Breakfast Burrito Jr, which has egg and cheese inside, 3 pieces of french toast sticks, and a small brewed coffee.
The Breakfast Duo is also available for $6, which includes a sausage, egg and cheese on a biscuit with a medium vanilla iced coffee. If you’re not a fan of coffee, for a dollar more you can eat the sausage, egg and cheese Croissan’wich with small hash browns and Simply Orange Juice.
