Taylor Swift is constantly breaking the internet. Just a few weeks ago, she sent Swifties into a frenzy after announcing her new album on an episode of boyfriend Travis Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast. But yesterday, fans all over the world celebrated for a different reason — Swift took to Instagram to announce her engagement! The singer shared photos of the proposal, as well as the ring, and fans could not contain their excitement. It wasn’t just fans celebrating online, though — numerous food brands took part in the celebrations as well.
Krispy Kreme
Krispy Kreme’s social team took to Instagram to joke that they needed to take the day off to process the news and eat doughnuts (extremely relatable). In a play on Swift’s song Paper Rings, the brand wrote “we’d marry you with dough rings,” and shared that they would be offering free Original Glazed doughnuts from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in celebration of the engagement. Krispy Kreme understood the assignment — the only appropriate response to the queen’s engagement is overloading on doughnuts.
Panera Bread
Of course, Panera Bread had to get in on the excitement as well. After all, Swift is a huge sourdough fan, and Panera Bread recently dropped a line of merch and a new meal deal for Swifities in honor of this. The brand shared a photo of a ring inside its iconic bread bowl, with the text “She said yeast!” I’m sure she would have loved to be proposed to with some sourdough. Wouldn’t we all?
Starbucks
If you’re a Swiftie and a Starbucks fan, yesterday might have just been the best day of your entire life. The fall menu, including the Pumpkin Spice Latte, made its way back to stores just in time for autumn yesterday. The only thing better than getting to enjoy pumpkin again is this engagement, and Starbucks acknowledged that. The coffee chain took to Instagram to celebrate, sharing a post that read “are we supposed to keep talking about PSL like nothing happened???” I was asking myself the same thing. Starbucks even referenced Swift’s song Blank Space in the caption, which many fans mishear a lyric to say “Starbucks lovers.”
Olipop
Olipop shared a photo of some soda cans referencing Swift’s Instagram caption, where she refers to herself as our English teacher and Kelce as our gym teacher. The brand also shared a special deal to celebrate the soon-to-be-married couple. Olipop is offering 13% off any subscription order of its sodas — a nod to Swift, as 13 is her lucky number. Subscribers can use the code “LOVERS13” to get the discount. Like Swift and Kelce’s love, the discount will also last forever!
Poppi
Olipop wasn’t the only soda brand to celebrate Tayvis. Poppi also shared a post to Instagram, featuring soda cans with lyrics from Swift’s song So High School — the song she used on her engagement announcement. The flavors are titled Gym Teacher and English Teacher, and while the post is only joking, I really would drink a Tayvis themed Poppi soda.
DoorDash
The Swifties at DoorDash are working overtime for sure. The food delivery brand shared a carousel to Instagram of Swift’s engagement, saying “since her love finally delivered, we’re redoing the prophecy!” Until August 28 at 11:59pm, customers can use the code THIRTEEN to get 13% off all DoorDash orders, since Swift is “no longer at the restaurant.” Elite song reference: if you know, you know.
