Regal Cinemas Is Serving A Butterscotch ICEE Worthy Of A Trip To Hogsmeade

As a proud Hufflepuff, I’ve always found comfort in the warm, whimsical side of the Harry Potter universe, especially when it comes to food. I didn’t grow up immersed in the Wizarding World like many of my peers, but once I got into the series as an adult, I fell hard. And honestly, Harry Potter-inspired snacks have only made the experience sweeter. In the past, the franchise has nailed its butterbeer-flavored releases, from the Goldfish Butterbeer Butterscotch-flavored grahams that were dangerously snackable to The Flying Cauldron’s non-alcoholic Butterscotch Cream Soda, which tastes like it was brewed just for underage witches and wizards.

Now, Harry Potter is stirring the cauldron once again, but with Regal Cinemas, just in time for September 1, the traditional day when Hogwarts students board the train back to school.

What are Regal and Harry Potter up to?

Turns out, Harry Potter and ICEE are teaming up to bring fans a new kind of treat straight from the wizarding world. For a limited time, you’ll be able to sip on a Butterscotch ICEE, a sweet, creamy drink that comes topped with cold foam and finished with a decadent caramel drizzle. Basically, it’s the frozen cousin of butterbeer, and yes, I’m already planning to wear yellow when I order mine.

That’s not all, though! Regal Cinemas is launching a collectible “Back to Hogwarts” combo that’s themed after all four Hogwarts houses. Whether you rep Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or (like me) Hufflepuff, there’s a version for you. Each combo features a book-shaped popcorn tin and a matching Hogwarts house tumbler, perfect for showing off your school spirit.

Of course, these treats are arriving just in time for a special return to the big screen. All eight Harry Potter films will be playing in theaters again for a limited time, so whether you’re a longtime fan or a late-blooming Potterhead like me, it’s the perfect excuse to relive the magic.

When can I return to Hogwarts?

Mark your calendars, witches and wizards! The Butterscotch ICEE will be available at participating locations starting August 20 and will stick around through September 3, just enough time to sneak in a few sweet sips before the train leaves the station.

As for the film marathon, Regal is bringing all eight Harry Potter movies back to the big screen from August 23 through August 31. It’s the perfect opportunity to revisit your favorite magical moments (and yes, that includes every single time Snape flips his cloak dramatically).

The collectible popcorn bucket and house tumbler combo is expected to be available while the film series is playing, but since availability may vary, it’s a good idea to contact your local Regal Cinema ahead of time to confirm they’re participating. No one wants to show up ready to represent their house and leave empty-handed.
