Costco’s New Crumbl Dupe May Be Taking the Cookie Crown

Since the bakery chain’s debut in 2017, Crumbl Cookie has taken the dessert world by storm due to its unique flavor combos, celebrity collabs, and huge portion sizes. Although Crumbl faces competition with bakeries such as Insomnia Cookies and Levain Bakery, a Costco Crumbl cookie copycat wasn’t really on our bingo card — until now. The wholesale warehouse’s bakery recently dropped new cookies, which some are calling a Costco “Crumbl dupe.” Cookie lovers and Crumbl stans quickly took to social media to compare the two, with a clear winner emerging victorious.

What are the Costco Crumbl cookie dupes?

Costo’s most recent Kirkland Bakery release is the Butter Sugar Cookie with Sprinkles, which fans are comparing to the iconic pink Crumbl Confetti Cake Cookie. On a Reddit thread about the new sugar cookies, user @beesknees82 said that the Costco cookie reminds them “of the confetti Crumbl sugar cookies—that slightly underbaked but soft texture.”

But unlike the signature pink Crumbl cookies, which retail for $4.49 a pop, a 24-pack of the Costco sugar cookies is just $10, or 42 cents per cookie.

🍪❤️ COSTCO vs. CRUMBL 🩷🍪 THROWDOWN 🏆 Have you tried Costco’s NEW Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie? It just replaced their long running food court churro (much to the dismay of Kid 2, but to the delight of Kid 3). When I first saw it, I immediately thought of Crumbl cookie, which is just around the corner from my Costco. Here’s the thing, the Crumbl cookies are 5 bucks each 😳while Costco is charging half that💰 I grabbed a few at each place and conducted my own, non scientific study, which includes Scooter and someone on the street 🤓 Is the Crumbl worth 100% more? Or has Costco just turned the cookie world upside down?! Which one looks and sounds better to you? Comment and LMK, I’d also love to know if you’ve tried either one! Costco’s chocolate chips ratio is 🤯 you know how I feel about chocolate AND saving money 😉💕 XO, Lora 🩷 CHECKOUT my website: LORAfied.com for more! ➡️ @lorafied wherever you are! ⏱ TikTok 📺 YouTube 📌 Pinterest 👍 Facebook #crumbl #crumblecookie #crumblcookies #crumblcookie #cosctogirlie #tiktokcookie #tiktokcookies #cookiechallenge #LORAfied #homemaker #costcorun #samsclub #costcofood #costcolife #costcodoesitagain #costcohaul #costcofinds #costcodeals #crumblcookies #chocolatechipcookies🍪 #chocolatechipcookie #giantcookie #foodcourt #throwdown #savvyshopper #hereforyou #realmomlife #shoppingtips #discounteddeals #ballingonabudget #didyouknowthis #lifehacker #frugalshopper #foodreview #barginshopper #walmartdeals #instagramhacks #viralinstgram

Additionally, fans have also noticed that the Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie at Costco’s food court is remarkably similar to Crumbl’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunk Cookie. While the two cookies are similar, one big variation is the price. At Costco, the price of one freshly baked food court cookie is just $2.49, which is half the price of Crumbl’s individual chocolate chip cookie.

Are the Costco Crumbl cookies good?

According to fans on TikTok, the Costco chocolate chip cookies are extremely good, and measure up pretty evenly with their Crumbl counterpart, particularly the size. TikTok user Jenny Hoyos weighed the two chocolate chip cookies to determine the better deal, but found they were more or less the same size. The Crumbl cookie weighed 5.4 oz, while the Costco cookie was 5.5 oz.

Lifestyle influencer LORAfied also noted that the two cookies both appeared to be extra-large, but the Costco cookie was significantly cheaper for the same-sized cookie.

When it comes to presentation, we eat with our eyes first, and Crumbl seems to win here. The Crumbl cookie comes in the adorably iconic pink box, while the Costco cookie comes in a plain brown pastry bag. LORAfied noted that the Crumbl cookie is more commercially aesthetic, while the Costco cookie looks more homemade.

Many fans agreed that the Costco cookie far outdoes Crumbl in the amount of chocolate chips per cookie, which may influence arguably the most important category when it comes to food comparisons: taste.

TikToker Daniel Hwang preferred the Costco cookie because it came out warmer and had more chocolate flavor. LORAfied and Hoyos both agreed that the Costco cookie tastes more homemade, like something your grandma would bake. But, if your chocolate chip cookie preferences are dictated by texture, food influencer Irene Kim noted in her TikTok review that the Crumbl cookie is softer, chewier, and butterier, while the Costco cookie is more crispy.

Most reviewers agreed that the Costco cookie outdoes Crumbl in terms of taste, and when combined with its lower price, Costco seems to have the better overall value. But you can visit your local Costco food court to pick up a fresh cookie and try for yourself.
