While I’ll never turn down a McDonald’s ice cream cone or Dairy Queen Blizzard, when it comes to fast food frozen desserts, there’s one stand out in my book: a Wendy’s frosty. From the delicious flavor that isn’t overwhelmingly sweet to the perfect consistency that’s somewhere between a milkshake and ice cream, a chocolate Frosty from Wendy’s is, arguably, pure perfection — and that’s before Girl Scout Cookies are added to make it a Wendy’s Thin Mints Frosty. By no means does the fast food chain need an intervention when it comes to their dessert menu, but a Frosty flavor upgrade that involves Girl Scout Cookies? Sign me up.
What is in the Wendy’s Thin Mints Frosty?
The newest installment of seasonal Frosty flavors, the cool, creamy, and delectable Wendy’s Thin Mints Frosty is available now for a limited time. Inspired by the iconic Girl Scout Cookie flavor, the Thin Mints Frosty combines the classic Wendy’s Frosty, swirled and topped with a rich, minty cookie crumble sauce inspired by the flavor of Girl Scout Thin Mints.
How much does the Wendy’s Thin Mints Frosty cost?
The Thin Mints Frosty is available with either the Chocolate or Vanilla Frosty base and can be ordered in a size small, medium, or large (which unfortunately means you can’t snag a free one with your Frosty Key Tag). The Wendy’s Thin Mints Frosty costs $2.99, $3.79, and $4.39, respectively (for context, a plain large Frosty is typically $2.69).
And, since it’s considered an upgrade to the standard Chocolate and Vanilla, both original flavors are still available while the Thin Mints Frosty is on the menu.
Is the Wendy’s Thin Mints Frosty good?
The Wendy’s Thin Mints Frosty debuted February 21, so I obviously went straight to Wendy’s when my local chain opened to get a first taste. While I’m always down for either Classic Chocolate or Vanilla (if it’s available), I had to pay homage to the mint chocolate cookie and stick with a Chocolate Frosty base.
I grew up storing my Thin Mints in the freezer, so the cold and creamy ice cream sounded like an ideal vehicle for Girl Scout Cookies. And while I didn’t think that a Wendy’s Frosty could get any better, I was quickly proven wrong.
The Wendy’s Thin Mints Frosty is, well, fantastic. When I say I want ice cream at the end of the day, that’s what I want: creamy, chocolatey ice cream with a fun and fudgy flavored mix-in. The Thin Mints taste was there — and evident thanks to minty cookie crumbles — but didn’t overpower the deliciousness of a Classic Chocolate Frosty. Each dessert shone in its own light, and together, it’s an absolute powerhouse.
Obviously, it wouldn’t be a Wendy’s trip without dipping French fries in my Frosty, so I had to try that combo, too. The sweet and salty pairing was, as always, delicious, but I truly think that the Thin Mints Frosty is more than good enough on its own.
