A Discontinued Dairy Queen Blizzard Is Returning In 2025

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and things are about to get even more festive this holiday season. So many brands and restaurants are bringing back their peppermint and hot cocoa-themed goodies in time for the holidays, including limited edition fast food specials and milkshakes. Even Dairy Queen is joining in on the fun, bringing back their Peppermint Hot Cocoa Blizzard full of candy canes and decadent chocolate chunks, but the fun doesn’t stop come Christmas! DQ announced today that they are officially bringing back a fan-favorite Dairy Queen Blizzard, and it’s up to the customers to decide which flavor will make a comeback in 2025. Even better news? Dairy Queen is leaving the decision in the hands of fans and letting customers vote to bring back one of their legendary Blizzard flavors.

Which Dairy Queen Blizzard flavors may be coming back in 2025?

With over 170 retired Blizzard flavors (some beloved and not so much), many fans of former DQ offerings have resorted to secret menus and custom creations to channel the flavors they know and love. Luckily, though, these creations will become a troublesome order of the past thanks to DQ’s announcement. Starting December 9,  customers can vote for one of three pre-selected fan-favorite flavors to make a return to Dairy Queen menus in 2025: the S’mores Blizzard Treat, the Georgia Mud Fudge Blizzard Treat, and the Cappuccino Heath Blizzard Treat.

Name a more iconic trio, I’ll wait. The S’mores Blizzard Treat consists of the perfect triple threat: chocolate bars filled with fluffy marshmallow goodness and graham crackers blended with the iconic DQ vanilla soft-serve. This delicious Blizzard is guaranteed to make you feel like you’re sitting by the campfire, regardless of the potential brain freeze.

If you love a classic mud pie, the Georgia Mud Fudge Blizzard Treat is made with DQ vanilla soft-serve as the base, which is blended with classic cocoa fudge, brownie pieces, and pecans.

Last but not least, the Cappuccino Heath Blizzard Treat is just like the Dairy Queen Heath Blizzard but with a twist that is perfect for coffee lovers. In addition to the standard combination of vanilla soft serve, Heath candy bars, toffee, and decadent fudge, this DQ Blizzard features coffee added to the soft serve base for an extra Cappuccino-flavored punch.

How can I vote for the Dairy Queen Blizzard flavor returning in 2025?

In order to vote for the Blizzard worthy of a menu spot in 2025, customers must download the Dairy Queen app and sign up for their DQ Rewards Program. (Unfortunately, votes are ineligible without a DQ Rewards membership.) Voting will take place beginning December 9, and continue through December 19. On December 20, Dairy Queen will announce the winning flavor, and that Blizzard will return to DQ menus. 2025 means new year, new you. How about a new (or old?) Blizzard too?
