If you are craving Tex-Mex, The Porch is definitely the move. Although it’s still relatively new on the Wake Forest scene, it definitely has the people talking.

The menu boasts a wide variety of food ranging from your popular traditional Mexican dishes of quesadillas, tacos, and burritos to more creative dishes such as the Porch quinoa zucchini burger (yum) or the Porch breakfast bowl (grits topped with pimiento cheese and poached eggs, more yum).

Come for brunch, lunch, or dinner and The Porch has a unique and flavorful plate for everyone.

Under grand high ceilings and soft spotlights, The Porch simultaneously encompasses a casual, hip and trendy atmosphere. The farm style tables, mismatched chairs, brightly colored walls and retro music are perfect for the chic vibe.

The walls boast traditional Texas flare and hold hand painted signs of popular menu items and daily drink specials. The entire staff is extremely friendly and attentive; there is no need to worry about a shortage of water to down your spicy food.

The popular three amigos appetizer, a tray of warm, crispy chips, served with fresh guacamole, homemade salsa, and spicy queso, is crucial for starting off the ideal meal. Be warned: the entrée portion sizes are all extremely generous so do not fill up too excessively on the addictive chips.

If you’re looking for a little buzz, be sure to order a signature margarita; they are exceptionally fresh and craftily topped with cilantro.

Another superb appetizer, the porch pockets, are the most mouthwatering beef empanadas you’ll ever taste. Break into the fried outer shell to enjoy juicy, delectable ground beef with zesty seasoning.

As for entrees, the steak tacos are highly recommended—overflowing with perfectly cooked steak and melted cheese. This hearty, heavenly dish won’t leave you disappointed.

You cannot go wrong with the classic quesadillas. These crispy quesadillas are served with lettuce, guacamole, jalapeños, sour cream, and pico de gallo and are a must-have on any table. Additionally, try the sweet potato and black bean quesadillas for an on-point combo of sweet and spicy.
