I Tried The New Starbucks Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte & It’s Fall In A Cup

The season of autumn is fast approaching with its official start falling on September 22. One of the best parts of fall is seasonal drinks, and we know that nowhere does those better than Starbucks. Starbucks is basically royalty when it comes to autumnal flavors, specifically pumpkin spice. But pumpkin spice isn’t the only fall flavor, and Starbucks has shown us that with its inclusion of flavors like apple crisp. The Starbucks fall menu has been available since late August, but the coffee chain has a few extra surprises when it comes to seasonal beverages. A new drink is hitting stores soon — the Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte — and I got to have a sneak peek.

What is the new drink?

Starbucks is adding the Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte to its fall menu. The latte comes in hot and iced versions, but both have that delicious, nutty fall flavor. The iced version even comes with a vanilla sweet cream cold foam and a dash of pecan crunch.

What does the Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte taste like?

It tastes like pecan pie in a cup. Who doesn’t love a warm slice of pecan pie on a cool fall day? In the latte, pecan is the strongest flavor, but it’s not overpowering. It’s seamlessly combined with the flavors of other seasonal spices and blonde espresso. The oatmilk adds another layer of nuttiness, while also adding some sweetness. The pecan sprinkling on top gives a slight salty flavor, which I actually really enjoyed as a savory over sweet girl. I know salt in a drink kind of sounds weird, but trust me, it works. Plus, it adds a crunchy texture which is always fun.

Even if you’re not the biggest fan of nuts (like me), the pecan flavor blends together effortlessly with the other ingredients, so you don’t only taste pecan. Instead, your taste buds are met with a wave of autumnal flavors, and a pinch of sweet and salty crunchiness.

The iced version of the drink is obviously a lot more refreshing than the hot one, which is perfect for those fall days where it’s not exactly cold yet. The hot version has more of a toasted flavor, similar to the flavor of a warm bite of pecan pie. I could picture myself sitting next to a fireplace wrapped in a cozy blanket while sipping on this latte.

When will the Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte be available?

The new drink will be available in stores starting Thursday, September 19. There’s really no better way to celebrate the start of fall than picking up this delicious new addition to the Starbucks menu.
