5 Snacks That Prove Cookie Butter is the New Nutella

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at F and M chapter.

Nutella brownies, Nutella doughnuts, Nutella hot chocolate—you’ve heard it all and you’ve eaten it all. Now it’s time for us to move on to a new favorite spread.

Cookie. Butter.

Two words that, when said together, make us salivate just at the sound. If you’re like us, then you know the temptation of an untapped jar of cookie butter. The velvety smooth surface just begs to be scooped up by the spoonful.

But wait a minute. Here are 5 things you can do with cookie butter that we promise are even better than eating it straight from the jar.

1. Pretzels Dipped in Cookie Butter

Or anything dipped in cookie butter for that matter. It’s so simple, yet so delicious. All you need is a shot glass, a few tablespoons of cookie butter and something to dip into it. Just stick your shot glass of cookie butter in the microwave for 15-20 seconds and you have yourself a mini cookie butter fondue.

2. Cookie Butter S’mores

This incredible twist on your favorite childhood treat will have you wondering why you didn’t think of it first. It’s easy. All you need are the traditional s’mores essentials—graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate. Then just add a scoop of that good ol’ cookie butter. To toast your marshmallow try a gas stove, or even a candle (whatever you can get). If you’re impatient and want your s’mores ASAP, just stick your marshmallow in the microwave for 10-15 seconds for a similar effect.

3. Cookie Butter Sandwich Cookies

This is why we love Trader Joe’s. Did you know they actually sell these? If you’ve never tried them, you need to. They have all the things we love about cookie butter sandwiched between two mouthwateringly buttery biscuit cookies.

4. Ice Cream Drizzled With Cookie Butter

We just discovered the next big thing in the world of ice cream toppings—melted cookie butter. Try this next time you’re going in for a scoop. All you have to do is stick your cookie butter in the microwave and, in approximately 15 seconds, you’ll be enjoying a delectable cookie butter sundae.

5. Cookie Butter & Nutella Sandwich

Nutella is cookie butter’s wifey and they are a match made in heaven. Toast two pieces of bread, spread Nutella on one, cookie butter on the other and marry them. Best sandwich ever.
