Exercising on a daily basis is the only key to get a perfect body. We have known that since our school days when we were made to exercise even on those scorching summer mornings.
That being said, you can’t out-exercise a bad diet. Luckily, there are plenty of health-boosting foods you’re probably already eating. Here are seven of our recommendations:
1. Greek Yogurt
A cup of greek yogurt is highly nutritious and tastes decadent at the same time if you add few toppings to it. Just make sure you’re adding healthy stuff nuts or low-sugar cereals for a healthy snack.
2. Sweet Potatoes
It might not sound or look like it, but sweet potatoes are a good source of antioxidants and high in Vitamin C. They are easy to bake and a delicious treat which are found in most parts of the world. Give up those unhealthy french fries and swap for sweet potatoes instead.
3. Grilled Chicken
There are people like me who cannot live without chicken. Fried chicken is food for the soul (for all non-vegetarians), but deep-fried anything is not healthy if you want to stay fit. Therefore, opt for the healthy and delicious grilled chicken.
#SpoonTip: try it with some mint sauce.
4. Soup
Soup is one food that is delish AF and is really healthy. Get over the misconception that it’s meant only for sick people. You can make various kinds of soup using fresh vegetables or chicken or both that’ll help you stay fit and keep your stomach full.
5. Spinach
There are infinite reasons why you should also be eating spinach: it is loaded with Vitamin B, fights cholesterol, strengthens your immune system and is even good for your eyes and skin. Remember Cartoon Network’s Popeye, the sailor man and his power-source, the spinach can? As kids, we sure were inspired to eat spinach thanks to him. So, next time make a spinach salad to keep your body, brain and stomach happy and healthy.
6. Kiwi
Not only does kiwi boost vitamin E intake, it also contains vitamin C, iron and potassium. It is also lower in carbs than many other fruits. Add kiwi to your diet and eat it plain or add it to your fruit salad or smoothie.
7. Oats
Oats make a warm, hearty breakfast meal and are very inexpensive. They are low in carbs and high in fiber and are some of the best grains to eat if you’re looking to shred those extra kilos. Try out different ways of eating oats: as a dessert topping, granola bars or in healthy cookies.
