I Tried The Vegan Ice Cream Brand KLIMON & Loved It

As I get older, the lactose intolerance that runs in my family tragically makes itself more and more apparent in my own body. I’ve always loved milk products, so this reality is truly devastating for me. As an Italian, I’ve always loved my cheeses, but my one true love has always been ice cream. So when the ice cream brand KLIMON reached out to me, I was over the moon to find a vegan alternative to my favorite sweet treat.

What is KLIMON?

KLIMON is best known for its catchphrase, being “No Milk spelled backwards.” They launched as a healthy alternative to regular ice cream in multiple ways; plant based on top of being dairy-free. The brand was initially launched in partnership with Walmart and has continued collaborations, like the current partnership with Universal to make a line of Minion-inspired flavors, as well as Minion novelty treats. As a huge banana fan, I’m crossing my fingers for what this line has in store!

What do the KLIMON flavors taste like?

I was sent a sampler of some of KLIMON’s flavors, including Vanilla Boom, Morning Brew, Mint Condition, Chocolate PB Cup, Cherry Bomb, and Chocolate Meltdown.

Vanilla Boom: 3/5

I started with Vanilla Boom, as vanilla isn’t one of my favorite flavors of ice cream already, due to its simplicity. While this was pretty much just a simple vanilla, it was a solid one, and set up the other flavors well. After all, it didn’t have any type of weird, vegan taste to it, like some other ice cream alternatives have.

Morning Brew: 4/5

Next was Morning Brew, as my brother, David, was trying these with me, and he’s a big coffee fan. This was another very successful one for me, as it nailed the coffee taste. However, unlike some other coffee-flavored products, it doesn’t suffer from any bitterness. My brother was an even bigger fan of this one than I was, nursing the pint throughout the rest of our taste test.

Cherry Bomb: 2/5

Cherry Bomb was not David or I’s personal favorites, but I can’t blame that on KLIMON. Frankly, we’re just not the biggest cherry fans. This is very cherry, a real explosion of flavor. I think if you’re a cherry fan, you’ll really like this! It wasn’t my personal cup of tea, though.

Chocolate Meltdown: 4/5

As a palate cleanser in the middle of these, we went back to another more simple flavor in Chocolate Meltdown. This really blew me out of the water, though, as it was not only a great chocolate vegan ice cream, but a great chocolate ice cream period. This was shockingly milky, and I honestly wouldn’t have been able to tell this was vegan if not for the branding.

Mint Condition: 3/5

We tried Mint Condition pretty late in the game, as my brother isn’t a mint fan, either. Mint chocolate is one of my favorite flavor combos though, so I was really excited for this. The chocolate flavor wasn’t super prominent here, which was slightly disappointing, but the mint was practically perfect. It tasted very down to earth, and almost came off nutty. Definitely a very strong addition to the lineup.

Chocolate PB Cup: 5/5

Last but certainly not least was undeniably the best flavor from this pack. My brother and I were both in complete agreement over this, fighting over who got to finish the container. That flavor was Chocolate PB Cup, which is a relatively simple flavor to come out on top so strongly. However, we adored it. David compared it to Reese’s Puffs but in ice cream form, which definitely held up. If you try any of these flavors, this should definitely be top priority!
