25 Degrees is a burger bar located in the near north side of Chicago and is named after the temperature difference between a raw and well-done burger. My experience here was so incredible, so magnificent, so memorable that I felt compelled to share the joy with as many people as possible. So, here are 5 things to love about 25 Degrees:
25 Degrees delivers on the single most important part of the burger: the meat. The patty is an absolute joy to consume. It’s juicy and flavorful, and it melts in your mouth in such a way as to leave you speechless. I’m serious, the table fell completely silent when the burgers arrived.
25 Degrees goes from strength to strength here, producing a truly unique bun that perfectly complements the rich meat of the patty. The bun is large and fluffy, holding all the constituent parts of the burger together nicely, and, though it appears similar to a pretzel bun, it offers a faintly buttery, more decadent flavor.
The possibilities are effectively endless at 25 Degrees. They offer four fabulous premade options (I recommend the “Number 1”), each of which will bring combinations of tastes to your mouth that will blow your mind. And if you don’t fancy any of the four, fear not, for there is the option to completely craft your own burger. So if you’re feeling lazy, trust the experts and order one of the pre-designed burgers, but if your creative juices are flowing, construct your own culinary masterpiece with top-notch ingredients.
Speaking of top-notch ingredients, the cheese selection at this burger bar is absolutely absurd. For me, it was love at first sight. At most places, you might choose between cheddar or swiss, but at 25 Degrees, you can choose between a diverse selection of fifteen cheeses, each of which come with a brief description to help those who aren’t so cheese-savvy.
As if the offerings weren’t decadent enough already, 25 Degrees puts thirteen creamy and delicious shakes on offer. The ideal complement to the burger, bun and cheese on offer, these milkshakes are some of the best I’ve had anywhere.
Basically, when you go to 25 Degrees, you’re going to immerse yourself in some incredibly delicious, unabashedly decadent food that will have you coming back again and again and again. I would urge anyone and everyone with even the faintest love of meat to pay this bar a visit.
