Put Down the Ramen and Head to Pittsburgh’s Lulu’s Noodles

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at PITT chapter.

On a street full of restaurants, Lulu’s Noodles stands out because of its playful style and authentic Asian cuisine. Its bright walls open the space up and make it feel warm and inviting, the perfect escape from the cold Pittsburgh winter.

I decided to go with the classic egg roll for round one of the Asian invasion in my stomach. It was filled to the brim with savory veggie goodness and had just the right amount of crispiness. The roll was served with my personal favorite, duck sauce, but with a sweet twist of honey mustard that made my taste buds go nuts.

My trusty friend and I ordered the vegetable lo mein and Thai curry chicken for our main courses. The portions are huge, so be sure to come on an empty stomach because you’ll want to finish it all.

The Thai curry melts in your mouth and the chunks of chicken, potatoes, carrots and green beans bring it to a whole new level. Due to the name of the restaurant, I had high expectations for the noodles and I am pleased to say that they didn’t disappoint.

Don’t forget to try the bubble tea. Lulu’s has 15 flavors, 3 different types of tea and 7 toppings. You can even add milk or frozen yogurt to turn your bubble tea into a smoothie. Pick your level of sweetness to make sure the beverage is to your liking.

If you’re in the mood for some award-winning Asian cuisine, bring your friends, heck, bring everyone you know to Lulu’s Noodles. You won’t be disappointed.
