Upon feeling an itch to start off winter break, my friends and I geared up in our flowy flower patterned shorts and wannabe trendy shades and decided to make the trek (aka 40 min drive from UM) to a place where heaven exists on Earth, Knaus Berry Farm.

Knaus Berry Farm is a quaint little farm located in Homestead, Florida, which has a unique family history, starting all the way back to 1956 when the OG Knaus brothers, Russell and Ray, had their vision. From what started as solely a strawberry farm, has blossomed to so much more. The farm now offers fresh produce, milkshakes, ice cream, bread, pastries, etc. To this day, the farm is family owned and operated by Ray’s daughters Rachel and Susan, who oversee the daily operations of the farm with their husbands.

With seasonal hours from November to mid April, you can see people lining up outside of the Knaus doors Monday-Saturday 8 am until 5:30 pm. This cash only farm, is almost ALWAYS busy, no matter the time or the season.

Lucky for us, we stumbled upon a not so bumpin’ time of the day, where real-life humans (aka not us college degenerates) are working. We were in line for about 5-10 minutes, where we anxiously awaited our turn to order, while drooling over the incredible (and low key arousing) aromas that surrounded us. Needless to say, this place is foodgasmic. And I don’t take that term lightly. I mean, how could you not be attracted to one of these buns?

To say I was excited to finally try these ever so talked about cinnamon buns is a complete understatement, but I never knew something could be so damn good. For only $9 for a dozen buns, it’s hard not to fall in love. Seriously though, if Cait’s absolute joy-filled face doesn’t say it all, I’m not sure what will.

Nothing will pale in comparison to the warm fuzzies my friends and I felt while taking that first, warm and gooey, deliciously perfect bite of the buns, but I’d be doing an injustice if I didn’t mention Knaus’ amazing homemade milkshakes, especially their strawberry shake.

To sum it up, my trip to Knaus Berry Farm was an incredibly satisfying experience, and I definitely have the food baby to show for it, but #treatyoself, am I right?
