You cannot scroll through your Instagram feed without seeing a delicious handful of food photos – you just can’t. But where are all of these #foodphotos coming from, and do the French really love macarons way more than the rest of the world?

Photo World set out to investigate which cities like which food. The interactive project called “The Food Capitals of Instagram” features a series of maps that highlight the popularity of 18 well-known foods and dishes. The map uses hashtag numbers to show which city shows which food the most love.

Check out the top three cities that give each of these dishes the most love.
