Nothing like waking up the morning after a night out. Dry mouth, head pounding, and of course the necessary sunglasses that remain glued to your eyes like the frown lines that dig deep into that youthful forehead of yours. Yes, I agree. That sounds like the #1 experience to avoid in any given day at any given time. So wutcha gonna do about that son? You’re going to chug that cup of Joe, grab that banana, and get that big ol’ booty of yours out of that bed.

The city of Halifornia (Canada’s East Coast California) provides so many opportunities to rid yourself of that gnarly hangover while taking in that crisp ocean air and sweet sweet sunshine on that North Eastern Coast. From coffee, to exercise, to food, let’s kick that hangover out of our lives bright and early!

1. Coffee: The Buzz

My favourite word. The best part of the day.

Halifax is the home of many great coffee shops. From the campus favourite, Coburg Coffee, to the waterfront classic, Two If By Sea, fill those veins of yours with the buzz of caffeine and get that heart pumping.

2. The Waterfront: Self-Explanatory

Be cool, be calm, be collected. And of course keep that public garbage can close, just in case that ocean air somehow relieves you of last nights XL burrito. Grab a healthy bite at the market and repress those nail biting thoughts of last night.

Literally though, we get it. We all look at those college kids with cars and frown with jealousy. At the age of 21, you are able to create an account with CarShare at a student rate of $8/mo. Run errands or hit the road to Peggy’s Cove (of course weather permitting!)

4. Stop.Drop.And.Sweat?

Halifax has some of the most beautiful east coast views and awesome paths to hit when you want to sweat out that vodka. Whether you hit the pavement or hit the gym, sweating is one of the best ways to relieve yourself of that hangover. On days with good weather, Point Pleasant Park offers plenty of paths that take you from a beginner to advanced run.

5. So Drink? More?

Vodka! Rum! Tequila! Nothing like a strong drink to put you in the mood to get back out there and have (maybe) the best night of your life! So keep the good times rolling and pop that bottle!
