As Boston’s weather (finally) starts to warm up, our air conditioners start working full time to keep us cool. Why not make some frozen treats and turn down the AC a degree or two? Here are some easy ideas to keep the heat at bay.

Frozen Blueberries and Grapes: It’s as simple as it sounds! Take your grapes and blueberries (separately…unless you feel like a fruit medley) and place them in tupperware or plastic bags in the freezer. A few hours later…a healthy, refreshing burst of freshness!

Frozen Thin Mints: This one is my favorite. Freezing thin mints makes the mint flavor stronger, upping the refreshing (and cooling) factor. Frozen Peaches: Snack on these when you feel like something more dessert-like. They taste just like sherbet! Add a sprinkle of cinnamon to boost the flavor even more.

Frozen Chocolate Covered Bananas: Slice bananas in half, width-wise. Stick a popsicle stick into each one and freeze for a few hours. Melt chocolate in your microwave (for those who are kitchenless) or in a double-boiler and dip your frozen bananas into it. Add nuts or sprinkles if you choose (psst, you should choose this).

Frozen Yogurt: Although it may not have the same texture as Pinkberry, it is homemade so it is just as awesome! You can freeze your Yoplait yogurt (or whatever brand you eat) and enjoy your “frozen yogurt” in your dorm, better yet, in your bed!

Good luck, enjoy and stay cool!
