It's that time of year when it becomes socially acceptable to eat 37 cookies in one sitting and unbutton your pants after eating a meal. Well, maybe the pants one is just me, but the holidays really are the best time of year for delicious food and baked goods.

One of my favorite holiday traditions are holiday cookie exchanges. Year after year my friends and I meet, watch and re-watch classic holiday movies and bring dozens of fresh baked goods to exchange.

#SpoonTip: For a boozy night, pair your holiday christmas cookies with wine.

But sometimes it seems like I’m left with a couple dozen sugar cookies. Which, don't get me wrong, are delicious, but after a few too many of those, I am in need of a palate cleanser. So, I went in search of a delicious goodie that will be the hit of the holiday party. Here are five options that are sure to upgrade your holiday cookie exchange.

1. Rice Krispie Treat Snowflake

Rice Krispies treats might be one of the easiest desserts to make, plus they're such a classic they're a no-fail crowd pleaser. This recipe dresses up Rice Krispies treats as cute little snowflakes.

2. Peppermint Bark No-Churn Ice Cream

The combination of peppermint and chocolate is good anytime of the year, but is especially fitting for the holiday season. This recipe doesn’t even require an ice cream maker which is a #win. You can also get super cute and Pinterest-y with it and get personal-sized containers for each of your guests.

3. Chocolate Covered Marshmallow Reindeer

These irresistible little reindeer are just the right amount of festive and they are unbelievably easy to make! They call for less than five ingredients and only take ten minutes to make.

4. Brownie Christmas Trees

This recipe elevates the humble brownie and makes it an adorable addition to any holiday party, and all you have to do is add some frosting and candy toppings to your favorite brownie recipe or box mix.
