Ben and Jerry’s New Cereal Milk Ice Cream Tastes Like Your Childhood

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Denison chapter.

Have you ever thought to yourself, “Wow this would be 10 times better frozen,” as you slurped the milk from the bottom of your cereal bowl? Well, that fantasy is about to come true with the release of Ben & Jerry’s Cereal Milk ice cream—inspired by three iconic cereal varieties. Set to release on March 7th (AKA national cereal day), these cold treats are the perfect way to get your sweet fix.

It’s about time Ben & Jerry’s decided to jump on the cereal milk trend; from Momofuku Milk Bar to Kellogg’s Cereal Café, people can’t get enough of their favorite childhood breakfast cereal. Don’t worry though, you won’t have to travel to NYC for this new indulgence; Ben and Jerry’s new flavors will be available at Scoop Shops around the world, and these are the 3 new flavors to expect.

Froot Loot

“Cereal milk ice cream with crisp fruity cereal swirls. It’s like if cereal, Saturday-morning cartoons, and superhero pajamas were an ice cream flavor,” reports Ben & Jerry’s.  That’s a fun twist on a classic cereal. I’m sold.

Frozen Flakes

The only thing missing here is beloved Tony the Tiger. This flavor is a base of cereal milk ice cream with a crisp cereal swirl; just as sweet and refreshing as the much-loved Frosted Flakes. Count me in.

Cocoa Loco

Ok chocolate-lovers, this one is for you. The new Cocoa Loco flavor incorporates, chocolate cereal milk ice cream with crisp chocolate cereal swirls. We’re hoping this one is reminiscent of Cocoa Puffs, because let’s be real, Cocoa Puffs are definitely #1 on my list.

The only catch? The cereal milk flavors will only be available in Scoop Shops and will not be sold in stores, *sigh*. However, don’t let that stop you; let your inner-child run free and stop by a local Scoop Shop starting March 7th to try one (or all three) of these new flavors.
