There are a lot of mixed reviews regarding coffee. People often wonder about the implications of drinking too much coffee, but just remember that everything is acceptable in moderation. However, if you’re a coffee addict worried about your consumption, here are four suggestions to get your caffeine fix a different way!
1. Add some flavor to your caffeine boost.
Tea can be delicious and give you your caffeine boost at the same time. Black tea, earl grey, and maté are great alternatives that you can substitute for your usual coffee kick. “River Song,” an Earl Grey that can be purchased at Adagio, is pictured above, which typically comes with citrusy hints of bergamot root, as well as coconut, vanilla, and lemon. There are milder variations, but Earl Grey is always an option for an early morning pick-me-up. Maté, another great alternative to coffee, has a high caffeine content and comes in a variety of flavors including fruit and chocolate. It can be found in stores or online at Teavana.
2. A Tropical Twist
Herbal teas are the perfect replacement for sugary syrups that are full of unhealthy nutrients. The above photo shows “Pineapple Kona Pop,” sold at Teavana. Although herbal teas don’t have caffeine, they are a great substitute for coffee and have tons of flavor. The floral and tropical taste to this tea is certainly an adjustment for coffee lovers, but herbal teas have all sorts of health benefits!
3. Green is Good
Green tea is praised for its high levels of antioxidants, and low levels of caffeine. Green tea is refreshing and delicious. The flavor above is “Pomegranate Green Tea,” and can be found at Adagio. Green tea is great with honey, which is a better sweetener then refined sugar because it’s all natural, and doesn’t hide the teas’ natural flavors.
4. “Zhen” Master
The tea pictured above is a China White tea with Silver Yin Zhen Pearls, and can be found at Teavana. White teas have very light and mellow flavors, which can be savored not only by tea-lovers but also by those who want something healthy to sip on.
