Chia seeds come from the Mexican desert plant Salvia hispanica and are packed with nutrients. One tablespoon of these itty-bitty seeds contains 5 grams of fiber and 3 grams of protein. Additionally, chia seeds pack high amounts of omega-3, which combined with the fiber and protein, they will keep you fuller for a longer period of time. Chia seeds don’t lack on vitamins and minerals either; they’re a good source of potassium, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and manganese.
