While cold brew isn’t exactly new to the coffee scene, I still find that many people don’t know what it is, when in fact it is the best way to get your caffeine fix. If you’re still drinking regular iced coffee, here are the 7 reasons to convert to cold brew.

1. It’s less acidic

The biggest plus to cold brew iced coffee is the reduced acid content. This not only gets rid of the bitter taste, but it also means you can enjoy it without sacrificing the health of your teeth and stomach.

2. It’s stronger

There’s nothing worse than a bad cup of coffee, except maybe a weak one. With cold brew, you avoid both these problems, since the brew you make is technically a concentrate. This means it is super strong, and that you can choose to dilute it with water or milk for a regular coffee experience, or drink it as it comes to enjoy the intense flavor.

3. It has richer flavors

With the acidity gone, you can taste the hidden flavors and get a sweet and rich cup of coffee that you never want to end.

4. It has more caffeine

I’ve become pretty much immune to the effects of caffeine, and I’m sure that this isn’t just me. The good news is, cold brew can have up to two times as much caffeine as your regular cup of coffee.

5. It’s better for the environment

No electricity required to heat the water means a much more sustainable cup of Joe.

6. It’s easy to make at home

No more wasting money on Starbucks every morning. All you need is a container with a lid, and this recipe.

7. It really does taste better

If you’re still not convinced that you should be drinking cold brew, try it based just for its superior taste. Science says that by removing heat from the process, the taste of the coffee is no longer overpowered, and you can enjoy what you’ve been missing.
