Most road trips consist of sitting for hours, junk food, the "are we there yet?" question, and bathroom breaks at slightly sketchy gas stations...but not in Texas. In Texas, we have Buccee's, a gas station with a mascot, freshly-roasted nuts, and bathrooms so clean you will pass all the other gas stations by, regardless of how much you need to use the bathroom.

In order to successfully serve the huge state of Texas, Buccees needed to differentiate itself from the other gas stations that carry cheaper food options and are more conveniently located throughout the state.  And differentiate itself it did.

It's got the cleanest bathrooms around.

Have you ever been to a gas station whose number one priority is to make sure the bathrooms are clean? Well, Buccees goes above and beyond to make sure that their bathrooms are in pristine condition. Literally. There is nothing cleaner than a Buccees bathroom.

The food is fresh and made-to-order.

Buccees has the usual gas station chips, candy, and soda, but it doesn't stop there. You can treat yourself to a satisfying breakfast taco made to order, a fresh veggie tray, or one of their many sandwich options. The 7-11 on the corner might have free slushes once a year, but can they produce a sandwich of this caliber? I think not. I'll choose to pass a million 7-11's if there is a Buccees within 30 miles.

They have an official mascot.

When you think mascots, your mind usually goes to sports, your college, or those Friday night high school football memories. A gas station probably doesn't cross your mind, but Buccees changed that for Texans everywhere. The friendly Beaver is in statue form at the front of the store and someone is dressed up inside, bringing a smile to customer's faces and likes to all of the social media posts.

This is only the spark notes version of everything Buccees has to offer, and if it's not on your bucket list yet, you'd better add it. It will give you something to look forward to on those long road trips. If you're not yet convinced, check out the official website – it has over 5 million views!
