Nearly two years after friends and co-stars Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney announced their plans to open a Parisian-style sandwich shop during season nine of Vanderpump Rules, the pair say opening day is near. Despite the initial launch date being set for Spring 2023, the duo experienced setbacks in receiving permits and complying with city requirements. The Sun reported that chef and partner Penny Davidi said the patio outside the restaurant had to be demolished due to plans to temporarily close the street that the restaurant occupies. Now with the launch date near, here’s a peek inside the Vanderpump Rules stars' new restaurant, Something About Her.
What’s on Something About Her’s menu?
The menu is a fancier take on our favorites. Turkey with a twist of spice, egg salad, and a classic Italian are among the permanent menu sandwich items, as said by Maloney on BravoTV. An array of beer and wine options will also be available, along with a plan for a selection of salads that would rotate seasonally.
The interior sticks to a light color palette, with light green and gray benches and pillows and Parisian light fixtures like chandeliers and sconces. Maloney said that she wants it to be cozy and inviting so people want to hang out at the restaurant.
In a TikTok posted in August to the Something About Her page with the caption “perfection takes time!” The pair's VPR castmates are seen sampling the sandwiches.
Tom Sandoval, Madix’s ex of nine years, is notably absent, despite him returning to the cast for the upcoming season 11 of the hit Bravo show.
After the news of Sandoval's infidelity rocked reality TV and pop culture as a whole back in May, Madix has since been busy with an array of brand deals and endorsements. Uber eats, Duracell, and Bic razors have all supported Madix through the affair between Sandoval and Madix’s best friend, Rachel Leviss.
So, when can we expect to see the doors of the West Hollywood shop to open?
Hopefully in the next few weeks, according to the pair. In the meantime, the Something About Her website has been selling merchandise, such as hats, crewnecks, and t-shirts. One design even features a pattern bread, Swiss cheese and salami complete with a knife slicing through the center.
The Instagram page for Something About Her says the store is “unapologetically feminine and undeniably delicious,” and we can’t wait to see for ourselves!
