The Story
Sam’s passion for baking goes back to when she was around 10 years old, when she started helping her mother in the kitchen. Her father was in the restaurant business at the time, which further sparked her love for food. He taught her many techniques and time management skills required in the kitchen that she still uses today. Her love for baking continued to grow until she was making a new recipe almost everyday! Instead of keeping them to herself, she decided to start a food blog and Instagram account, which was the start of Salt N Sprinkles.
In 2017, Sam started to switch to a vegan diet. When she received requests for gluten-free recipes as well, she was inspired to experiment with vegan and gluten-free products, which eventually became the foundation of Salt N Sprinkles. Sam believes that dietary restrictions should never be a barrier to good food, and her recipes are proof! As her recipes gained more and more popularity, people began asking if her treats were available to purchase. So of course Sam made it happen! After hours spent both inside and outside the kitchen, Sam founded Salt N Sprinkles to deliver treats to customers across the country. Despite the lack of network and resources being a BIPOC woman, Sam never gave up and she is dedicated to inspiring others like her to strive towards their goals. Sam frequently promotes Black-owned businesses and sells special treats where she donates a portion of her proceeds to small businesses and organizations that support the BIPOC community!
The Cookies
Now, let’s discuss the details of these wonderfully delicious cookies. Currently available flavors are: chocolate chip, birthday cake, oatmeal ginger, and caramel popcorn! Salt N Sprinkles is based in Los Angeles, but these cookies ship nationwide. If you’re around in the LA area, you can order for pick-up or delivery as well. New flavors and treats are constantly being added so make sure to give Salt N Sprinkles a follow so you never miss out!
When you order, the cookies come in a cute package (pictured below) in a secure, well-cushioned box. The cookies are SO delicious. I’m not vegan or gluten-free, but I will definitely get these again. The texture is soft, delicate, and the flavors melt in your mouth while giving you a burst of joy. My personal favorite was the oatmeal cookie!
The Mason Jar Baking Mixes
Also available online are the mason jar baking mixes. They are all still vegan and gluten-free! All you have to do is follow the directions given to bake them fresh in your oven at home. These are perfect gifts for the holidays, birthdays, or just as a fun activity with friends or family! Choose from three flavors of cookies: birthday cake, oatmeal, or chocolate chip.
