Among our health conscious society, food companies have created healthier versions of our favorite junk foods. One of the most classic junk foods that is near and dear to many is ice cream. Especially during the summer time, ice cream is a popular must-have. That's why I'm going to share seven high protein ice cream brands on the market.
1. Halo Top
It only felt necessary to start off the list of high protein ice creams with the one and only Halo Top. Halo Top has recently become one of the most popular ice cream brands on supermarket shelves. Each serving of Halo Top has six grams of protein, which is pretty high for ice cream. Halo Top comes in a variety of flavors from birthday cake to sea salt caramel. I can attest that Halo Top is truly a delicious and satisfying ice cream that you must try this summer.
2. Wheyhey
The ice cream brand Wheyhey is known for its protein content. As it sounds from the name, Wheyhey contains Whey protein. Whey protein, and protein in general, is extremely helpful in muscle recovery and overall health. Not to mention that each pint has 20 grams of protein. Wheyhey is also sugar-free.
3. Enlightened
Another delicious high protein ice cream brand that will satisfy any sweet tooth is Enlightened. A serving of Enlightened ice cream ranges from 7 to 8 grams of protein. Another plus is that Enlightened is low sugar and contains fiber. Enlightened also carries many flavors. My personal favorite is cold brew coffee. Enlightened is a high protein, sweet summer dessert.
4. Ice 'N' Lean
Ice 'N' Lean is another up and coming high protein ice cream brand that I can't wait to try. With delicious flavors, it's hard to believe that each serving has 10 grams of grass-fed whey protein. Seriously, eating well has never been this easy.
5. So Delicious
If you're looking for a high protein, dairy-free ice cream, So Delicious is the one for you. All of their ice creams are made from either soy milk, almond milk, cashew milk, or coconut milk. A serving of So Delicious is around 3 grams of protein. Although it's not the highest ice cream brand in protein, it is dairy-free and has fewer calories and fat than most ice creams.
6. Arctic Zero
One of the first high protein ice cream brands I discovered was Arctic Zero. I was originally drawn to Arctic Zero because of its low calorie content. Little did I know, each serving of Arctic Zero has around 3 grams of whey protein from a GMO-free region. I have to admit, Arctic Zero isn't the first brand I'd grab for on the shelf. However, it's a delicious option when I want something cold and sweet.
7. Yasso
Last, but certainly not least, is Yasso. You'd never know that this ice cream dupe is made from greek frozen yogurt. Yasso products are stick bars and ice cream sandwiches, not pints. However, for those who are carefully watching their portions, having one serving already made for you is extremely helpful. I eat Yasso bars all the time and am addicted. Their flavors are incredible and each bar has 5 grams of protein. You just can't go wrong.
