One thing my friends and I take incredibly seriously is acai bowls and smoothies. We have particular allergies and preferences that can make it hard to find the best bowl to satisfy our cravings, until now. Playa Bowls has officially hit the New Orleans scene and they came in with a splash. I was lucky enough to be invited early to check out the space and try a bowl.

About Playa Bowls

Playa Bowls was founded in New Jersey, in 2014. Since they started, they have expanded to over 150 locations across the nation. Playa Bowls previously had a location in Metairie, but now they're making their way to Magazine Street!

The interior of the shop was cute and tropical, making me feel like I was on a vacation. They have tons of different bowls to choose from, in addition to allowing you to create your own. They also offer smoothies and coffee if acai bowls aren't your thing. There are seven different base options and the combinations are endless.

My Order

I ordered the bae bowl, a special bowl for the February. The bowl is half Playa Pitaya and stupid cupid base topped with blueberry flax granola, strawberries, coconut flakes, goji berries & pitaya infused white chocolate drizzle. I got mine with no coconut :).

Overall

The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, the bowls were fresh, everything was clean, and the vibes were just great overall. My friends and I have definitely found our new go-to spot for acai bowls!

Make sure to check out Playa Bowls New Orleans! Their grand opening is Saturday, February 4th at 11:00 a.m. and the first 50 customers get a free bowl and a t-shirt!

Playa Bar New Orleans is located at 5601 Magazine Street.
