As someone who used to be a very picky eater, I know how hard it can be to try new foods. While some of us are lucky enough to taste dishes from all over the world, others stick to instant mac, or pizza delivery. If you've finally made the decision to step outside of your food comfort zone and be adventurous, here's what food you should try based on your zodiac sign.

Aquarius (January 20th - February 18th): Roasted Hazelnuts

sweet, cereal, garbanzo, chickpeas, legume, vegetable, meat, nut
Jessica Kelly

Aquarians are always fighting for a cause and ensuring fairness for all, including animals. For this reason, they are often vegetarians or vegans. Due to their energetic nature, they also require food that is healthy and full of protein. Hazelnuts are a healthy, natural snack, and roasting them brings out a slightly sweet and nutty flavor.

Pisces (February 19th - March 20th): Sweet Potato-Pecan Casserole

sweet, chocolate
Shun Matsuhashi

A friendly and generous sign, Pisces often surround themselves with the company of others. This dish is perfect for sharing with friends (or eating by yourself when you need some solitude). It's simple and sweet, just like Pisces, and fairly simple to make.

Aries (March 21st - April 19th): Seaweed

aonori, hash, nori, vegetable, herb
Becky Hughes

Energy is a key attribute for Aries, but they can also be too impatient to sit down and eat a whole meal. They need a quick, light snack that is still healthy—that's where seaweed comes in. Quick and easy to make, seaweed snacks are a great substitute for greasy potato chips while remaining just as addictive, allowing Aries to chow down in a hurry before running off to their next project.

Taurus (April 20th - May 20th): Gazpacho

chili, soup
Amanda Shulman

Foods that require some work before enjoying are totally up Taurus' alley. Not only do they like practical, high-quality dishes, they also like to do the cooking themselves. A traditional Spanish dish, gazpacho is hearty and satisfying, sure to please the high standards of Taurus. For a more modern twist, try this easy loaded gazpacho recipe.

Gemini (May 21st - June 20th): Fish Tostadas

ceviche, meat, bread, cheese, fish, lettuce, vegetable, tomato
Jocelyn Hsu

Though often indecisive, Gemini tend to be more apt to try new foods due to their curious natures. It's this indecisiveness that can leave them struggling to pick that new food to try, but this dish is sure to satisfy any craving. A spin on a classic Latin American dish, adding fish keeps all the flavor with a healthy twist—a unique experience sure to excite any Gemini.

Cancer (June 21st - July 22nd): Reuben

lettuce, cheese, bacon, bread, pork, beef, corned beef, ham, sandwich, meat, pastrami
Madi Fitzpatrick

If there's any dish that will inspire feelings of comfort and nostalgia, it's the Reuben. Cancers enjoy a good meal with close friends, especially meals that remind them of home. With ingredients like corned beef, sauerkraut, and Thousand Island dressing, this dish is as flavorful as it is filling.

Leo (July 23rd - August 22nd): Sashimi

wasabi, meat, tuna, rice, seafood, fish, sashimi, salmon, sushi
Jocelyn Hsu

For this zodiac sign, it's always go big or go home. While others may be deterred by the thought of eating raw fish, Leos will take pride in enjoying a bold and aesthetically pleasing dish. They will certainly be the first to show off their appreciation for such a formal Japanese meal.

Virgo (August 23rd - September 22nd): Poké (Fish Salad)

fish, vegetable, rice, seafood
Nancy Gao

Virgos are obsessed with all things healthy and natural, so poké is a great option to try. Attention to detail is a key attribute for Virgos, and assembling this traditional Hawaiian dish would please any Virgo. While many variations of this cuisine exist, this zodiac sign will likely follow the current trend of ahi poké.

Libra (September 23rd - October 22nd): Croque Madame

egg
Sarah Rausch

It's hard to find a sign that follows the Parisian way of living more than a Libra, making the croque madame a perfect meal for them. This sandwich is arguably the fanciest and most beautiful ham and cheese sandwich in existence, which would please any art-loving Libra. Coated in a creamy béchamel sauce and topped with a fried egg, Libras would find much enjoyment out of sharing this meal with a loved one.

Scorpio (October 23rd - November 21st): Dragon Fruit

juice, sweet, dragonfruit
Alex Frank

For a Scorpio, appearances are everything, and no food has quite as bold an appearance as the pitahaya, or dragon fruit. This fruit, though often quite sour, is also refreshing, reflecting the complex nature of Scorpios. Just the gorgeous look of this food alone is enough to entice any Scorpio into indulging in this unique fruit.

Sagittarius (November 22nd - December 21st): Chia Seed Pudding

sweet
Christal Acosido

Sagittarius-borns are all for change, including when it comes to what to eat. An easy way to change up a breakfast routine is to make this easy overnight chia seed pudding, supplying this sign with much-needed energy. Since it's all made the night before, you can quickly grab this on your way out and enjoy while you're off travelling and exploring.

Capricorn (December 22nd - January 19th): Dim Sum

tea, rice, soup
Jocelyn Hsu

Nothing is more important to a Capricorn than traditional and family values. For this sign, a delicious way to honor tradition is by enjoying a serving of dim sum with family. This traditional Chinese dish is often accompanied by tea, meant to create a relaxing dining experience, something any Capricorn would love.

While the stars are not always so clear when it comes to our destinies, one thing is for sure: you can never go wrong with trying something new. Though these dishes may not be very adventurous to everyone, there are those who seek to experience all kinds of food and deviate from their normal cuisine. No matter your sign, you should always aspire to try new foods.
