You're walking out of class, and it's still 10 am. In need of something to hold you for the rest of the day, you go to your local Starbucks. Scanning the menu, you wonder how to jazz up your routine drink order. Do you really want to order another Pink Drink? Or do you want to try the new, cost-effective, somewhat healthy Green Drink?

So maybe you're thinking, "What the heck is this Green Drink?" Well, you've come to the right place. To start off, the Green Drink is comprised of: iced black tea, green matcha powder, and coconut milk.

Side note, if the barista asks how many pumps of sweetener or cups of matcha powder, the venti has an average number of six pumps of sweetener and cups of powder. If you like your drink less sweet, ask for less, and if you don't want too strong of a matcha taste, ask for less.

This combination makes the drink fairly inexpensive, averaging around $3.60 for a venti (20 oz).

In addition to being well priced, the Green Drink also has some health benefits compared to the average Starbucks drink. Matcha powder is high in antioxidants and can boost metabolism while enhancing mood.

Coconut milk is also pretty good for you. Coconut milk is rich in fiber, vitamins B and C, and minerals including iron, selenium, sodium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorous. Compared to coffee, black tea is less damaging to teeth enamel, has more antioxidants, and can help maintain a health weight.

Finally, the drink itself is tasty. The Green Drink is smooth, moderately sweet and provides the caffeine kick you need to push through your day.

So whether you're in need of a change of drink or a healthier alternative, I highly recommend ordering The Green Drink. It's relative inexpensive, has numerous health benefits, and the overall tastiness makes it a strong candidate for a potential new favorite drink. Watch out Pink Drink, here comes the Green Drink.
