Located in the middle of the University of Pittsburgh’s Oakland campus, the storefront’s retro circus vibe and funky flavors intrigue the academic minds of snack crazed students. Who would have thought that popcorn possesses so many possibilities?

The classics are buttery “movie style,” sweet ‘n salty kettle, real Wisconsin cheddar and the crowd favorites, chocolate caramel and peanut buttercup. Yet, there are always more options than these staple flavors. Every Friday three new specialty flavors become available, and I go out of my way on my walk to class to take a gander at the specialty board. Whether inspired by upcoming holidays (candy corn or stuffing), favorite seasonal flavors (creamy pumpkin pie or gingerbread cookie) or just plain out quirky (Bloody Mary, hazelnut Nutella® or dill pickle), The Pittsburgh Popcorn Company is advancing the art of snacking.

The Pittsburgh Popcorn Company offers so many flavors, so I suggest choosing the flavor based on what you’re craving. Are you feeling something creamy? The cheese-based options are sprinkled with layers of cheesy goodness which creates the best finger-licking experience.

What about sweet? Anything that says chocolate in the title is sure to have generous amounts of milk, dark or white chocolate drizzles which would satisfy any chocoholic.

Can’t make up your mind? Ask for “Chicago Style,” a mixture of both cheddar and caramel; proving that opposites do attract.

When you’re feeling adventurous, try one of the week’s specialty savory flavors. They will leave you with a mouthful of flavor that only Thanksgiving dinner could replicate. Get a bag for yourself or give one as a gift. You will sure make any onlooker jealous as you crunch down on this freshly made gourmet popcorn.
