Bennison’s macarons are top-rated in the Chicago area, and feature both seasonal and classic flavors. Here are our rankings of the ones they had in store:
Slightly too sweet, but a tasty treat nonetheless.
Nothing was particularly wrong with this flavor — nor mind-blowing. A good choice if you’re into vanilla ice cream and vanilla cake.
5. Red Velvet

The ganache in the middle made this macaron especially chocolate-y.
Like a chewy, creamy lemon bar. Yum.
Can’t go wrong with raspberry, vanilla and creamy raspberry ganache in the middle.
1. Salted Caramel
Decidedly the best flavor because of the sweet and salty contrast and generous amount of gooey salted caramel in the middle.
