I don’t know about you, but I frequent Asian restaurants largely for the ginger dressing. Even when it’s served over a sad bowl of plain iceberg lettuce, I’m a happy camper. The lettuce is just a vehicle for the dressing, right? But no matter how hard I search for a store-bought version of this favorite of mine, I never seem to find something that matches the thick, creamy consistency of the dressing served at authentic restaurants. Luckily, I’ve found the perfect recipe to enjoy this delicious dressing at home. Top anything — salad, quinoa, chicken — with this dressing to pack a serious flavor punch with minimal effort.

Servings: 8

2 carrots, peeled and chopped
¼ cup ginger, chopped
¼ onion, chopped (red onion, white onion, scallions or shallots would all work here)
2 tablespoons white miso paste
2 tablespoons honey
½ cup grapeseed oil
2 tablespoons sesame oil
¼ cup rice vinegar
¼ cup water
Salt and pepper to taste


1. Peel and chop the carrots, onion and ginger.

2. Combine all ingredients in a blender and purée until smooth.
