Guacamole with tortilla chips, better known as chips and guac, is a staple on many people's snack list. While grocery stores offer up some great ready-made guac's, nothing quite beats homemade guacamole.

That being said, I often find myself stuck in a rut of the same-old guac recipe that I've been using for years. But, thanks to the article to follow, I'm here to change your guacamole life forever. Introducing guacamole with kale, otherwise known as guac-kale-mole. Adding some finely chopped kale alongside the other, more traditional, ingredients brings some unexpected crunch, nutritional value, and pizazz to your already beloved guacamole recipe.

  • 3 avocados
  • 2 cups kale leaves
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 4 cherry tomatos
  • 1/2 cup red onion
  • 1 fresh lime
  • 1 fresh lemon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes

  • Step 1

    Prepare your ingredients. Feel free to use the desired amount of spices and juices depending on your preferences.

    Finely chop the kale, red onion, tomatoes, and garlic cloves.

    Thoroughly mix the finely chopped veggies together in a bowl.

    Slice the avocados into halves, remove the pit, and spoon it out into a bowl.

    Mash the avocado in the bowl with the back end of a spoon. Squeeze your preferred amount of lime and lemon juice.

    Mix the finely chopped veggies into the juiced up avocado mixture.

    Add the instructed amount of salt, pepper, red chili flakes, and hot sauce. If you're someone who likes a lil' extra kick, go crazy.
