Chocolate Puff Pastry Pretzel

    Ingredients

  • 3 sheets puff pastry
  • 2/3 cup grated chocolate
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • Sugar
  • Caramel sauce (optional)

  • Step 1

    Preheat oven to 400°F and spray 2 baking sheets with cooking spray.

    Grate or finely chop chocolate.

    Place a piece of parchment paper down on a flat surface and place a layer of puff pastry over it. Sprinkle with ⅓ grated chocolate and top with another layer of puff pastry.

    On top of the puff pastry, place an additional piece of parchment paper and roll out a little bit.

    #SpoonTip: If you don’t have a rolling pin, use a wine bottle.

    Remove parchment paper and add another layer of chocolate.

    Add a final layer of puff pastry and roll.

    Shape into classic pretzel shapes and place on oiled baking sheet.

    In a small bowl, whisk 1 egg with 1 teaspoon of water and brush on top of pretzels.

    Sprinkle with sugar and place in the oven for 12 minutes or until the top is slightly golden.
