The biggest no-no food of them all, however, would have to be caramel apples. Coated in caramel sauce and hardened to a T, these apples can lead to any oral patient's worst nightmare—especially for those of us with braces. So how can you get your caramel-apple fix this fall without taking a seat in the dentist chair?

Try caramel apple nachos, an easy-to-make dessert that's sensitive to the teeth and, just like the traditional treat, totally customizable.

    Ingredients

  • 3 large apples
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 20 caramel candies
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup rainbow sprinkles

    Cut up the apples into 1/4 inch wedges.

    Heat the caramel candies for 30 seconds in the microwave and stir. Continue this process in 5 second increments until the caramel is melted and smooth.
