As a wing connoisseur, I was skeptical about making my own. I was convinced that my local wing place was the only way to my heart, that is until I bought chicken wings from the grocery store, which was enough for eight people and half the price.

Starting off with such a complex flavor was intimidating but now I am ready to say goodbye to the original buffalo and hello to this tangy and zesty ginger honey hot wings recipe. 

Ginger Honey Hot Wings

    Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground Sichuan peppercorns
  • 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 2 pound chicken wingettes and drumettes
  • 2½ tablespoon hot sauce
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
  • 2 tablespoon scallions
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

  • Step 1

    Add flour, crushed peppercorns, five-spice powder, and salt to a large mixing bowl.

    Coat the raw chicken wings in the mixture.
