Debuting in the city early last month, 100 Montaditos is a franchise that started over a decade ago in Huelva, Spain. Located behind NYU Law, 100 Montaditos has come to Greenwich Village and is making its way across the states.

For the typical college student, 100 Montaditos is perfect because of its hours and affordable fare (some of the most inexpensive in all of New York City). Miniature sandwiches start at $1 and only go up to $2.50, with samplers and platters as the most expensive items on the menu. On Wednesdays, 100 Montaditos has a Dollar Mania deal where all sandwiches, soft drinks, and appetizers are $1, domestic beer and wine is $2, and imported beer and salads are $3.

As the name suggests, there are an astounding 100 sandwiches on the menu, each with a unique bread and filling. The majority of them are savory sandwiches, but the restaurant does offer five sweet montaditos, all served on a special chocolate bread.

You can’t go wrong ordering a sandwich with meatballs or the pulled barbecue pork and any item with crispy onions is sure to be a great choice. Each order is accompanied by crispy potato chips.

The dulce de leche and chocolate spread montadito, 97, is a sweet note to end your meal on. Served with a dollop of whipped cream, this dessert sandwich is sure to satisfy any fan of chocolate or caramel.

100 Montaditos is a convenient spot to have a beer with friends, watch a sports game or have an extremely affordable late night snack.
