After last year's whole "War on Christmas" debacle, Starbucks is heading into this holiday season with a new and fresh approach.

Starbucks baristas dished their best tips to Spoon for enjoying a lighter sip this season.

For one, try skipping the whipped cream. By requesting just a little whip or no whip, you can save between 80 to 110 calories, depending on the size and type of drink. That's no small number.

You can also ask to make your drink "light" or "skinny." Basically, this just means that the drink will be made with nonfat milk and without whipped cream. It'll still taste just as delicious.

Another great hack is to ask for fewer pumps of syrup. This will reduce the sweetness a little, but it will also reduce a ton of calories. Personally, I feel like sometimes they pump way too much syrup, so by cutting back it actually ends up tasting better

Finally, customers can also choose from a selection of holiday beverages that are 150 calories or less for a tall (12 oz). #Winning.
