With National S’mores Day falling smack dab in the middle of the Rio Olympic Games, I could not be more thrilled. This marries two of my greatest things: a warm, toasty campfire snack and the chance to see the Fab Five American gymnastics team kill it (per usual). And I’m not the only one who loves a good s’more.

Before it’s time to go back to school, about 2.3 million people will enjoy this iconic snack. And out of these 2.3 million people, 90% will use Hershey’s chocolate—an absolute staple when it comes to s’mores. And in case math isn’t your thing, this means 2,070,000 people use Hershey’s chocolate, making this brand synonymous with one of America’s most iconic traditions. Because of its nationwide prestige, this sweet, sticky, and gooey treat has its own holiday: National S’mores Day on August 10th.

The Olympic games are the perfect time to show love and patriotism for one’s country. And what better way to cheer for our favorite American athletes than indulge in one of America’s favorite foods? Trick question, there is no better way. Thanks to Hershey’s, here are some festive and unconventional ways to enjoy s’mores while rooting for the Americans as they go for the gold.

S’mores Pops

We’ve seen our fair share of dessert pops, but nothing beats these s’mores pops. Just coat your marshmallow in melted Hershey’s chocolate and graham cracker crumbs for a s’more in pop form. And if you’re feeling extra patriotic, add some red, white, and blue sprinkles while you cheer on your favorite athletes.

Move over chips and dip, because there’s a sweet new party snack in town. Basically a deconstructed s’more, this treat is guaranteed to be a hit. Just dip your graham cracker into a melted Hershey’s milk chocolate and gooey marshmallow mix for a treat that will impress all your guests.

There’s no such thing as too many s’mores. After indulging in s’mores on August 10th, make some goodie bags to give your guests to keep the party going. All you need is graham crackers, marshmallows, and Hershey’s chocolate for a quick and easy gift bag any guest would love.

This iconic American classic is one thing that will never go out of style. You can’t go wrong with a warm toasty marshmallow and melted Hershey’s chocolate sandwiched between two graham crackers. Add an Olympic twist with some red, white, and blue marshmallows or sprinkles to show some spirit.

Americans always have and always will enjoy eating this sweet treat, whether or not it is National S’mores Day. And for the record, if eating s’mores was an Olympic sport, I’d have more medals than Michael Phelps.
