If you travel far down College Avenue, you'll find yourself in the cozy Elmwood neighborhood. At first glance, you might notice the plethora of fine-dining options and high-end shops, but if you stroll past La Méditerranée and turn by lululemon Athletica, you'll discover Dream Fluff Donuts nestled right down Ashby Ave.

As soon as you step foot into Dream Fluff, the warm, toasty atmosphere and sweet aroma makes you feel at home. You're greeted by an assortment of baked goods and a spacious interior. It's a family-owned shop, bought by current owner Alex Sieu and his family back in 1987. Now, Sieu and his wife Nasin Bun run Dream Fluff Donut, working day and night for 7 days a week.

Sieu usually begins prepping the sweets starting the night before and often doesn't stop until almost noon the next day. Meanwhile, Bun manages the counter, looking after all the customers and offering quality service all-around.

The donuts here at Dream Fluff definitely live up to the name. Both the chocolate frosted and regular glazed were soft and fluffy, with a light, buttery aftertaste. Alongside the typical selection of donuts, the menu also features coffee options (including an espresso machine), fresh pastries, an array of hearty breakfast sandwiches, and even pancakes and waffles.

All the donuts and pastries (including the huge Apple Fritters and Bear Claws) are reasonably priced under $3, while almost all sandwiches and meal combos are under $6. Ultimately, the place is a extremely budget-friendly choice for any college student or local resident.
