Each summer and fall, dozens of the city's best food vendors convene in Greeley Square for the Broadway Bites food festival, bringing countless cuisines and flavors to the heart of New York City.

As a New York foodie, I am always looking for a new food fair to visit, and this one did not disappoint. Vendors include both popular restaurants and emerging choices, all of which serve unique dishes available for just one more week. Here are the highlights.

Jicama California Street Food

vegetable, salad, meat, sauce
Sophia Africk

Jicama California Street Foods puts a twist on classic Latin and Asian cuisines, inspired by the vegetables of Northern California. Jicama serves a variety of tacos, tamales, and salads, but their standout dish is the guacamole, chicken, mango nachos.

Roberta's

pizza
Sophia Africk

Roberta's, a Brooklyn restaurant known throughout the city for its extraordinary pizza, makes their pizzas in an on-site pizza oven at the festival, making each pie to order.  I loved the tomato, mozzarella, caciocavallo, oregano and chile of the Famous Original, and their Bee Sting is also popular at Broadway Bites, featuring honey and spicy sausage.

Arancini Bros.

chocolate, cake, cookie, sweet, bread
Sophia Africk

This vendor makes one-of-a-kind Sicilian risotto balls unlike anything you have ever tasted before. They pair the crunchy outside with a soft filling in order to create one flavorful bite. They have a perfect option for everyone, with Bacon Cheeseburger for burger-lovers and their famous Nutella flavor for dessert fanatics. I tried the mushroom taleggio and ragu rice balls, both of which were highlights of my trip to Broadway Bites.

Mochidoki

peanut, butter
Sophia Africk

In my opinion, dessert is the most important part of any meal, food festival, or outing, so I had to taste every one at Broadway Bites in order to determine the must-try treats. Mochidoki, an artisanal ice cream mochi vendor, makes both surprising and classic flavors, like salted caramel, strawberry, mochaccino chip, and raspberry white chocolate.

Macaron Parlour

These macarons, equally delicious and beautiful are a must-try dessert at Broadway Bites. You can't go wrong with any of their one-of-a-kind flavors, including the Giggity, made with chocolate ganache, peanut butter, marshmallow creme, dulce de leche, and salted peanuts.

Jars by Dani

cake, birthday cake, ice cream, ice, chocolate
Sophia Africk

Jars by Dani is the perfect treat to take home from Broadway Bites (or eat the second you buy it, if you're anything like me), making all of their yummy desserts in adorable mason jars. My favorite Jar is the White Chocolate, but other flavors include Lovely Lemon Bar, Peanut Butter, and the seasonal Pumpkin Spice Brownie Batter.

Doughnuttery

Doughnuttery is one of the best dessert vendors at Broadway Bites. Endless glaze, sugar, and topping options make these mini-doughnuts the perfect treat to end your trip to this incredible food festival.
