Instead of traveling to North Carolina for Thanksgiving like I do every year, this fall break I went home to Atlanta. This gave me the unique opportunity to visit all of my favorite food spots in Atlanta that I had been missing while at college. Don't get me wrong, the dining hall is great, but I was really craving some good local eats. With so many options to choose from, here's just a handful of my favorite food spots in Atlanta.

1. Krog Street Market

My family recently introduced me to this super hip indoor food market. I love the open atmosphere—you walk around and choose from a wide variety of food stands. There's barbecue, Greek food, sandwiches, vegan and vegetarian options, ice cream, and Suzy Siu's Baos, which is what I got for dinner (pictured above). Once you get your food, grab a table and chow down!

2. Peachtree Road Farmers Market

I've been visiting this farmers market since it first opened, and it's at the top of my favorite food spots in Atlanta. Not only is there plenty of fresh produce, but there are also crafts and prepared foods to choose from. There are baked goods, fresh biscuits, pizza, crepes, and so much more. It's been great seeing how much the market has grown over the years, and I've enjoyed trying out all of the new food.

3. Superica

This Tex-Mex restaurant is one of the newer food spots in Atlanta that recently opened up in my neighborhood. It's become an instant hit. It has a cool, hip, Texas vibe and delicious food. This time, I ordered tacos de camerones—crispy shrimp tacos with cabbage, pico de gallo, morita chili mayo, and avocado crema. It's a great place to go with family, or to catch up with old friends (which is what I did).

4. Farm Burger

My favorite part about this delicious spot is the build-your own-burger ordering. You select your burger (beef, chicken, veggie quinoa), and from there you pile on the toppings. I love getting a chicken burger with arugula, Swiss, tomato, and grainy mustard.

What's even better is that Farm Burger prides itself on its sustainable food practices. Their cattle is 100% grass-fed without added hormones, and they also promote farm-to-table. They even sometimes make an appearance at the Peachtree Road Farmer's Market.

5. Fellini's Pizza

This food spot never disappoints. It's an Atlanta staple, and you can find the booths the most crowded on Friday and Saturday nights with big groups of friends. Even though I love tomato sauce, Fellini's white pizza (pizza without tomato sauce) with tons of mozzarella, ricotta, and oregano is to die for. Whether you get a plain cheese or a Fellini's special, your pizza is going to be delicious.

I loved being able to visit all of my favorite food spots in Atlanta. While I only shared a few of my go-to spots, there are plenty of other delicious food stops to choose from. Whether you're craving ethnic, farm-to-table, or classic eats, A-town has it all.
