No matter if this is your first fall in B-town or your last, this list will guarantee that you make the most of all the seasonal offerings in town. So before peppermint and gingerbread flavors take over, try to hit as many of these as possible before they are gone.
1. Pumpkin Pancakes at The Village Deli
Step aside cinnamon roll pancakes; this fluffy stack of silver dollar pancakes is served with a side of pumpkin butter and is finished with a dollop of whipped cream.
2. Pumpkin Bagels at Bloomington Bagel Company
Try these bagels with brown sugar cinnamon swirl schmear or if you’re really dedicated to all pumpkin errything, the seasonal pumpkin schmear. #PumpkinOnPumpkin
3. Apple Cider, Pumpkin or Maple Donuts at Rainbow Bakery
Rainbow Bakery is an all-vegan bakery, meaning indulging in a fall-flavored donut won’t make you feel as guilty. Also, these unique donuts get bonus points for how pretty they are frosted and decorated.
4. Pumpkin Donuts at Cresent Donut
When you need a cheap snack/breakfast/dessert at anytime of the day (literally they are open 24/7), stop by Cresent and get a pumpkin donut. They even have halloween sprinkle donuts.
5. Smashed Pumpkin Soup at Darn Good Soup
Since the soup flavors at Darn Good Soup change daily, follow them on twitter or check out their website for daily soup listings so you catch this soup when it’s there. It is served with roasted pumpkin seeds that add some crunch to the soup.
6. Spiced Squash Soup at FARMbloomington
You can do no wrong at FARMbloomington with their seasonally changing menus. This year’s fall-inspired soup, served with pepitas, will especially warm up your soul.
7. Pumpkin Cookies at Baked
"The Pumpkin Spice Lattes" Pumpkin dough, white chocolate chips, cappuccino chips, rolled in cinnamon sugar. Suggested by @aaminaikhan. Let us know your favorite cookies and their names. Who knows maybe they'll end up on our menu. We can't promise you royalties, but we might give you a cookie or two.
When pumpkin dough arrives at Baked each year I try to get over to third street ASAP. Try this dough with white and dark chocolate chips and macadamia nuts, you’ll thank me later. Give these heavenly cookies some respect and eat them when they’re fresh out of the oven. (P.S. This season they also have apple cinnamon oatmeal dough.)
8. Pumpkin Ice Cream at The Chocolate Moose
Pumpkin ice cream might freak some people out but this flavor from Chocolate Moose isn’t extremely overwhelming. The balanced pumpkin flavor would pair nicely with a scoop of their cinnamon ice cream. Even though it’s starting to get a little chilly in B-town, you can warm this flavor up with some hot fudge and graham crackers.
9. Pumpkin Pie Spinner at Hartzell’s
Would you rather eat ice cream or a slice of pie? Fortunately you don’t have to choose. At Hartzell’s, they mix in a whole slice of pumpkin pie in each spinner so you can get the best of both worlds.
10. Pumpkin Bread with Rum Sauce at BLU Boy
BLU Boy offers many seasonal treats but their pumpkin bread is really a standout. Eat a slice or two with one of their warm drinks for a perfect fall morning.
11. Pumpkin Spice Lattes at Soma and Pourhouse Cafe
Buy local and stop by Soma or Pourhouse to treat yourself to a pumpkin spice latte. Soma even tops their PSL with pumpkin infused whipped cream.
